General Information - Blue Gray Cup 2008 - May 24-25, 2008

GYSC Enforces a No Smoking, No Alcoholic Beverages,
No Pets, No Grills, and No Verbal Abuse of Anyone policy.



   
Games

All teams are scheduled 6 games: 3 25-minute games and 3 50-minute games. No games will be played on Friday. Please reserve Friday evening for manditory team registration. On Saturday, each team will play 3 mini-games and 1 full-length (50 minutes) game. All teams will return on Sunday to play 2 full-length games. If for some reason a team is a no-show in your division it's possible to play less then 6 games.


Rules
All games are played in accordance with FIFA rules, except as specially modified by Tournament Rules. A full set of Tournament Rules can be found on this website.

This is a patch exchange tournament. We encourage patch exchange, however, it is not required.

Registration

Team registration will take place from 6-7:30 pm on Friday, May 23th at the Gettysburg Firehall. Directions to Firehall: 35 N. Stratton Street, Gettyburg PA

Certified rosters, player passes with photos and medical release forms will be checked and verified at that time. Permission to travel forms are only required for teams outside of Region 1.

Awards

Individual player trophies are presented to first and second place teams in each division of U9 through U17 age groups.


Eligibility

The Blue Gray Cup is open to both Boys and Girls competitive club teams. This is a USYSA sanctioned tournament through Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association. All teams must be in good standing with their state association in order to participate.

Official team rosters, validated player passes with photos and medical release forms are required of all teams accepted into the tournament. Permission to Travel forms are only required if your team is from outside Region 1.


Coaches Meeting
There is a coaches meeting held immediately after the conclusion of registration on Friday evening. While this meeting is not mandatory, coaches and/or team parents are encouraged to attend. Any last minute changes are covered at this meeting. This meeting will take place at 7:45 pm and will last approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

General Description Major regional tournament for competitive club teams.

Dates Registration Gettysburg Firehouse Friday May 23, 2008 from 6-7:30 pm. (Directions to Firehall: 35 N. Stratton Street, Gettyburg PA) Coaches meeting to follow Registration at 7:45 pm. Games on Saturday and Sunday, May 24 - 25, 2008.

Age Groups

U9 - U11 (8 v 8)
U11 - U17 (11 v 11)

(U11 will be 8 v 8 and 11 v 11) Tournament is open to both boys and girls teams at each age group.


Location

Numerous sites in Gettysburg, PA and the surrounding communities. Specific playing locations will be determined after the tournament deadline date has passed. We will not know where individual age groups are playing until after that time, please do not email us in advance.

Officials Each game will have 3 officials. The younger ages (U9 & U10) will have at least one certified center official and 2 club linesmen.

Guest Referees Referees from out of the area are welcome. Click here to Apply to Referee Games.

Awards All divisions will receive individual player trophies for 1st and 2nd place teams.

Guest Players

U9 & U10: Up to 2 guest players are permitted if necessary to assure an adequate number of players. The size of the entire roster, including guest players, is 14. U9 & U10 play 8 v 8.

U11 & up: Up to 3 guest players are permitted if necessary to assure an adequate number of players. The size of the entire roster, including guest players, is 18. U11 & up play 11 v 11.


Accommodations The Gettysburg Youth Soccer Club offers Accommodations at The Gettysburg College. Accomodation Forms will be avaliable after team acceptance. Teams are responsible for making their own hotel arrangements.

We will not know where individual age groups are playing until after that time, please do not email us in advance.


Application Fee U9 & U10: $500
U11 & above: $525

In the event of bad weather shortening or canceling this event, entry fees may not be returned.


Team Paperwork

All teams are REQUIRED to present the following items at Registration:

  • Your state-approved roster and/or a copy of such that we may keep;
  • Player passes for each player INCLUDING all guest players;
  • Medical release forms for each player INCLUDING all guest players (Your club's own medical release forms will suffice)
  • Permission to Travel Form, if your team is from OUTSIDE Region 1

To Obtain a Permission to Travel Form If your team is from OUTSIDE Region 1, you will need to provide us with a state approved Permission to Travel Form. In order to obtain this form, you will need a copy of The Gettysburg Youth Soccer Club's Permission to Host Form.
