Due to potential weather, we have established satellite parking at HACC. The shuttle bus will run from HACC to the College fields both Saturday and Sunday. The specific address for HACC and information is listed below. Permit parking will still be located at the base of the observation tower on Mummasburg Rd. There will NOT be any shuttle service running from the High School. All parking is now at HACC IF POSSIBLE, PLEASE PLAN TO CARPOOL AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!

Additionally, for anyone setting up tents at the College fields along Howard Avenue, PLEASE make sure you set your tent up on the soccer field side of the tree line along the Avenue. The area between the trees and the Avenue is Park Service property and we are forbidden to use this ground. Signs will be posted.

All games are currently on as scheduled for both days. Any updates with regards to the games and weather will be relayed via email to the head coach and asst or team manager listed on each team’s application.

This letter is to inform you of the parking situation at Gettysburg College this weekend. Please pass this information on to your parents so they are aware of parking locations for all Gettysburg College fields. We are trying to head off as many possible parking/driving backlogs as possible by releasing this information ahead of time.

Gettysburg College students will be returning to campus this weekend. Therefore, there will be extremely limited on site parking at the college for this weekend’s Battlefield Blast tournament. Each team playing at this site will be issued four (4) parking permits for on-site parking at the College. Permits will be distributed to each team at registration on Friday night. It will be up to the team as to how the permits are distributed. The permit only parking lot is located at the base of a National Park Service observation tower on Mummasburg Road. There is a short walk from this lot to the fields. Parking passes must be left on your dashboard and visible at all times while your vehicle is parked in this lot. All vehicles without a permit will be directed to a satellite parking lot located at HARRISBURG AREA COMMUNITY COLLEGE (731 Old Harrisburg Road), which is about a half mile from the fields at the College. We have arranged for a shuttle bus to transport parents, coaches and other spectators from the parking lot at HACC to the College fields. For your convenience, parents should drop players and equipment along Howard Avenue, (see field layout map). Please note there is NO PARKING on the avenue as this is National Park Service property and vehicles left unattended for any period of time will be subject to a ticket and towing at the owner’s expense. Please do not use Mummasburg Road/College Avenue or Biglerville Road/Carlisle Street as a drop off area as these are main arteries and must be kept open and passable at all times. After dropping off, drivers should proceed directly to the satellite parking lot at HACC. The bus will run from 7am to close on Saturday and from 7am to close on Sunday and is scheduled to run approximately every 15 to 20 minutes but will run sooner if filled. Please take note of this and plan ahead to leave plenty of time to get to and from the fields.

There is a stone lot directly in front of the soccer and baseball fields off Mummasburg Road (prior to reaching the permit parking lot at the base of the tower) that will be restricted to referees and staff only. Please do not attempt to park in this lot or use the driveway into this lot as a turn around as that causes major traffic backlogs. This lot will be staffed by our personnel during the tournament. Additionally, the Gettysburg Optimist Club will be operating a PAY TO PARK parking area on Biglerville Road, directly across from the College fields. Please note that that GYSC and the tournament committee have no control over this lot.

You will find driving directions as well as an aerial map with both the College fields and the satellite parking areas marked. Maps will be updated as soon as possible. Please be patient while we work out these new arrangements and updates.

Please obey all NO PARKING signs that have been posted at various locations. Again, any vehicles that are left unattended on the Avenue or that are parked in areas marked NO PARKING will be subject to a ticket and towing at the owner’s expense.

We are attempting to head off as many problems as possible by releasing this information to the teams at this site ahead of time so that your parents have ample time to make arrangements. If possible, teams should plan to CARPOOL as much as possible. Again, please make sure the information has been passed on to your team parents.
